Teddy Bears’ Picnic

What a fun day we had at our Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Thursday! It was in aid of St. Andrews Hospice.

We made our own packed lunch in the morning then ate it outside at the picnic benches at lunchtime. We got to choose our filling for our sandwich – tuna, cheese or ham. We had a drink and a little tub of grapes. In the afternoon we got juice and a teddy bear biscuit. As a special treat, and as the weather was good, we got an ice cream lolly. We had to eat it quickly before it melted! Yummy! Miss. McLellan had one too.

We sang songs, ran teddy bear races, coloured pictures and had fun with our teddies on the grass. Our teddies enjoyed it too!

Numeracy Focus Drop in Session

It was our Numeracy Focus Drop in Session on Friday morning. Here are some pictures of the activities we took part in. We had fun finding out what floats and what sinks , a bit of science thrown in, with Mr. Colquhoun. We played Snakes and Ladders to help with our counting, ordered teddies according to their height, measured our own teddies and made our own addition sums using the gold coins in treasure chests. We all thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks to those who managed to join us for the session and hope you enjoyed taking part in the activities too.

Day Trip To Almond Valley Farm

We enjoyed our trip to Almond Vallley Farm on Thursday. We had to go on a big bus to get there. We had great fun playing on the trampolines, playing in the sand, playing the outdoor chimes, playing in the fun park and playing in the soft play area. It was exciting going on the tractor ride to see the animals in the fields. We had our lunch in the Picnic Barn. Charlie Bear came too and he enjoyed his lunch with us. He had fun joining in with all the activities. Can you see him in our pictures? It was one of the best days ever especially as it stayed dry all day!

Parent Literacy Drop In Afternoon

A great afternoon in Ladywell PS at the Literacy Parent Drop In.

Our focus for this session was Reading.

Thank you to all who managed to attend.  Our pupils worked so hard to demonstrate their literacy skills in a variety of reading tasks.

A special thanks to all teachers and staff who prepared an excellent session to showcase pupil learning at Ladywell PS.

Hallowe’en

001 002 003 003 004 004 005 006 007 008 009 010 011

We all enjoyed our Hallowe’en Disco on Thursday night. Z won the prize for the best costume in Primary 1. He was dressed as a werewolf.

We wore our costumes again on Friday for the Hallowe’en Parade in school. It was very hard to judge as all the costumes were super, but L and E won the prizes for the best costumes.

It was fun trying to dook for an apple. We had juice and some treats.

We made ghosts and witches to decorate our classroom.

Have fun ‘tricking and treating’ on Monday night but remember to stay safe!
