P3/2 visited Summerlee yesterday and had lots of fun! They were learning all about life for children in Victorian Times. They discovered that school teachers were very strict and that there could be up to 60 children in a class!!! Children in Victorian times had to go to work to help earn money for their families, our boys and girls are glad they get to come to school instead. The class saw many different Victorian artefacts like a bedwarmer, chimney sweep brushes, potato mashers and toys. They had great fun dressing up in Victorian costumes, playing with the Victorian toys and practising writing with ink pots and pens. All the boys and girls had a fantastic time at Summerlee and would love to go back again.
