Primary 5/4 enjoyed listening to “The Twits” by Roald Dahl yesterday morning. We all discussed our favourite parts of this hilarious story.

The next activity for both primary 6/5 and 5/4 was to collaboratively create a character. We split our page into four sections. In the first section we drew a head. We then folded the paper to hide this and passed it on to the next person to draw a body and so on until our characters were complete. We loved the ‘big reveal’ when we got to see our completed characters – they were really funny.

We then wrote character descriptions for our characters. Please read some examples below:

My character is called Barbie. She has a Barbie doll head and a square body. She wears wiggly trousers and has dinosaur feet! Barbie is a kind and helpful character. She always helps people. I would not like to meet my character though because she has dinosaur feet and might stand on my feet!

My character’s name is Sargent Flipper. She is an army girl with flippers as feet. She can take off her flippers and add feet when she wants to. She has a missing part from the bottom of her top to her legs.

Sargent Flipper is a strict character. She will help you all of the time, no matter how weird or girly it is. She likes playing basketball and football. She is also very good at swimming.

I would like to meet Sargent Flipper because she could go swimming, play basketball and football with me.

My character is called Fiyito. He has a dark face, square body, springs for legs and wears four flip flops. Nobody knows what kind of character he is because of his face being missing. He is very mysterious.

I’m not sure that I would like to meet him. He hides in shadows and might be dangerous!

My character is called Miss Crevil. She has big eyes that would hypnotise you. She has a long, sharp nose and wears a big pony tail that always goes to the right. She has sharp, evil teeth. She looks very strong and wears a shirt. She has three long legs and wears knee high socks with little shoes.

My character is crazy and evil. She is a dentist but the nastiest dentist you could meet. She isn’t a good person to talk to or make friends with – she won’t share anything.

I would not like to meet my character because she is not a good dentist, is evil and crazy.
