There is likely to be wet weather again tomorrow, and no doubt throughout the coming session.  As you are fully aware we have staggered starts, finishes and breaks in place in order to comply with COVID guidance.
Previously we  allowed all pupils to gather in the hall between 8.40am and 8.55am on wet mornings. Pupils were supervised by the school management team. This is no longer possible for the following reasons:
  • Large numbers of children are not permitted to gather in assembly halls.
  • “Bubbles” of children should not be mixing indoors.
  • There is insufficient supervision available to have children in class prior to their start time.
  • Teachers are entitled to use the time before school to prepare classrooms for lessons.
  • The yellow zone is used for nursery and P1. P1 cannot enter before 9am as this entrance is being used for the nursery from 8.30-9.00am.

We offer the following advice to parents and carers in these circumstances.

  • Arrive as close to your child’s start time as possible.
  • Dress for the weather.
  • Encourage your child to use the available outdoor shelters.

These arrangements are fully compliant with all guidelines. Please do not contact your child’s teacher through See Saw about this or any other whole school policy. See Saw is designed to be a positive forum for communicating learning and achievements. More information about our various methods of communication can be found in the most recent newsletter.

Thank you all for your ongoing co-operation and support.
