For a number of years now, pupils at St Joseph’s Primary have had a successful involvement with Strathclyde University and the Scottish Mathematical Council and it’s problem solving challenge.
The challenge is split into three rounds, two take place before Christmas with the third after.
Each round of problems are designed to be completed by pupils at home. In school we can give guidance and tips regarding layout but the solutions offered by pupils are to be their own work.
Usually each round consists of three questions and pupils should answer these on three separate pieces of paper. At the top of each piece of paper children should detail their name, class & school. The first round is available on the link below.
The date for when solutions are to be in school is Monday 5th October, the entries are then posted off to Strathclyde University.
Reminders of due dates will posted on the class Glow page.
