Following recommendations from our HMI Inspection in April 2013 we continue to strive to raise achievement by developing our SQA programmes. 

The SQA have recognised our principal teacher Mary Linden’s significant contribution to their thinking around National 1 qualifications and have subsequently introduced changes accordingly.

During the senior phase, pupils work on units from two themes: Developing Independence and Taking Part In The Community. Units covered by pupils  

include for example Having Your Say, Performing Arts, Healthy Eating, Personal Health, Community Activity, Enterprise and Fundraising.

Depending on the number of units covered in each of these themes, pupils can gain National 1 Bronze, Silver and Gold Personal Achievement Awards.

 The SQA accreditations are further indication that young people in Mavisbank are achieving progress in their learning in relevant and meaningful ways.
