May – Enterprising Individuals

Today, for enterprise, we had to solve Ollie’s toy shop dilemmas.  We learned that when we are solving problems, we must share ideas in our group and listen to other’s suggestions in order to be successful.

May – Our week

This week in Primary 3 we have been learning lots of new things. Here are some of our highlights:

Literacy:

We all wrote a recount of the Pearl Izumi Bike Race and we have made it into a book for everyone to read. We had great fun watching the race on Tuesday!

Maths:

We started learning all about time and we can already read o’clock and half past times on analogue and digital clocks successfully. We can’t wait to learn how to read quarter past times next week.

Health:

For P.E we have been preparing for sports day by doing lots of different races. Have a look at some of our pictures

“My favourite part of this week was making short films about our playground, to show the brand new Primary 1’s how much fun they will have when they start at Ladywell.” EF

“My best piece of work this week was my silhouette picture of Glasgow.” HC

“My best part was when we got to watch the videos that we made for P1.” BH

May – Ollie the Enterprising Octopus – Creativity

Primary 3 designed and made our own desk tidy in groups to solve the problem of messy desks. Here are some of our creations:

Our desk tidy was fun to make and held lots of our things. Unfortunately it fell apart because it was so well used!

This was a great design and we loved making it. It had a section for glue sticks, pens, pencils, rubbers, dusters, and much more. We are going to keep using our desk tidy.

We like our desk tidy and we are very proud of our creation. We are going to make some changes but we will keep using it at our table.

We liked the pencil box in our desk tidy but the ‘roof’ snapped off.

We loved our design because it had sparkly stickers on it. Ours was unique because it had a paper bin attached to it to collect any scraps lying on our table when we are working. It also has a secret box but we can’t tell you what we keep in there!

We like our design because it really helps us keep our desks tidy.  We used to lose rubbers all the time but now we have a box especially for them.

April – Primary 3’s visit to Stirling Castle

We really enjoyed going to Stirling Castle on our class trip. Have a look at some of our pictures.

“My favourite part was going into the castle to see the kitchen” SB

“My favourite part was getting to see the guard house.” EH

” It was interesting to find out that there used to be 4 towers but 2 of them got knocked down completely in battle and the 2 that are left are a third of their original size” CD

“I liked seeing the cannons.” MP
