As part of the Social Subjects course in S2 we study two Modern Studies Units:
The first unit is Unfair World and is a comparison study between the UK and several African countries. Coursework includes a study of NGOs and the creation of a flyer and the Developing World letter to the Prime Minister.
The second unit is called Scottish Democracy and is an introduction to what it means to live in a democracy, including political rights, representatives, participation, and course work includes participating in a class election.
