We are looking forward to a good turnout at the S5/6 parents’ meeting, which will take place on Tuesday 1st December, from 4.15 until 6.45 p.m. This is an opportunity for parents to find out the detail of their son or daughter’s progress and to agree targets with teaching staff, for the months ahead.
Our fundraising for Children in Need raised a total of £382 and thanks go to everyone who contributed to the success of the week. Collections for Kilsyth Foodbank will start next week and, in particular, the Foodbank would welcome donations of mince pies, Christmas crackers, chocolates, tuna/salmon, shortbread, fruit juice/Shloer, tinned ham, crackers and cheese.
Last week was S1 Numeracy Week within the school and pupils were recording all the numeracy they used in lessons across the whole school. They also participated in a Fun Maths Roadshow and heard from a representative of the fire service about how he uses numeracy in the workplace. Our S3/4 team participated in the National Enterprising Maths competition, held at Glasgow Science Centre. They had a great day and, although not amongst the winners, were the highest placed North Lanarkshire team.
Pupils in S2 learned about the work of the Teenage Cancer Trust last week and were very engaged in the informative presentation. Members of the Higher French class attended a French Immersion Morning and found the experience to be very useful for their course.
The Parent Council will meet on Thursday 3rd December, at 7.00 p.m., in the school. New members welcome.
