All our S4 pupils participated in a Growth Mindset workshop last week, aimed at instilling the importance of a can-do attitude and reinforcing the message that most abilities can be developed through hard work and determination. We hope that this will help the 4th year pupils, not only as they prepare for prelims in January and SQA examinations in May, but also throughout their lives.

We were delighted to welcome a group of volunteers from industry, who delivered an excellent Urban Planning workshop to senior pupils. The programme for the morning was designed to help young people understand the role real estate plays to revive and regenerate urban areas. At the same time, however, it helped in the development of more generic employability skills, such as teamwork, presentation skills, thinking skills and enterprise.

Our Achieve 3 group spend a very worthwhile day at a kick-start event in New College Lanarkshire, Coatbridge Campus. This focused on Arts and Employability projects that the pupils can now choose from, as part of their course work.

S1 and S2 Tracking Reports were issued last week. These are the first of three reports that parents will receive during the session. The parents’ meetings will be after the second report.

The school will be closed on Monday 16th November, as it is an in-service day.
