Chryston Primary at Kilbowie

On Tuesday group 1 did tree climbing. There was an easy tree and a hard tree on the easy tree most of us managed to get half way and some of us got to the top. In the hard tree Lewis, Brooke & Ross managed to get to the top but the rest made it half way or higher.

We had a brill day!

 

On Monday night we played 2 fun games.  We played a scavenger hunt and aeroplanes.  the scavenger hunt was very fun and we had to put our jumpers on backwards.  In aeroplanes we had to choose a city e.g Glasgow and we had to connect the flights and you do it again for another city.

We have been split into 4 groups for our activities, yesterday we all did a different activity when we arrived to get to know our instructor. Here is what we did:

Group 1

On Monday we went for a walk. We went to the beach and went in the water it was freezing. After that we went on a hunt for crabs we found 6 crabs and got to hold them. We went in a cave it was a very tight squeeze. When we got out of the cave there was a steep hill we slid down it and landed safely.

Group 2

Yesterday we arrived about 12:00 at the Kilbowie outdoor centre. We were gathered together and we were given a tour of where everything is. We got split up into our rooms and our groups. Then our instructor gave us water proof suits and went canoeing altogether in a big canoe, it was a lot of fun.

Group 3

yesterday we went on a adventure walk. It was fun. We walked along a slippery beach and collected seashells and held crabs in our hands. Then we walked along a wall and we went to a cave and we climbed up it then slid down the side. After we slid down the side we walked along a wall. We called it the Kilbowie temple run.

Group 4

Yesterday we met our instructor and she told us a bit about the activities we would be doing. After that we filled our net bags with a spare change of clothes, a towel and indoor shoes. Then we went to get some equipment to keep in our backpacks. We went into the wellie shed and had to find a pair that fitted us. Next we went on a walk around Kilbowie and we learned about Castle Gate which stops animals from getting in. Then we went back to collect a lifejacket so we didn’t drown. Next we jumped into the sea. It was really cold but also really fun as well.

After a very busy day, we are all here safe! We are all happy with our rooms and have started to unpack. We have all our kit and have already participated in our first Kilbowie activity. We will blog after dinner to tell you more about it.
