‘What a day!’ Wednesday 23rd September

Another fun filled day has been had by us all!! We are afll fed and about to get all glammed up for the disco!! 🙂 but first a few things about today!!

Chloe W – My favourite activity today was Rock Climbing. I really liked it because it challenged us a lot and it was really fun.  We had to trust the people in our group who were holding our harness and ropes while we climbed.

Elise M – This morning we went on a “George” walk!! 🙂 (That’s gorge walk to you and I! Haha! ) It was really hard but great fun! At the end we all jumped into the river and it was soooo cold! I felt like I could hardly breathe because it was so cold! This is one of the best experience I have had in my whole life!

Darren – My favourite activity was the skiing. I really challenged myself and managed to progress onto jumps and skiing from the highest point. I’ve learned from doing all the activities that I really am an outdoors type of person.  I have loved the challenges and working with Adam my instructor because he pushed me to the furthest point I could go!

Kyle –  I enjoyed today because weren’t sailing with our instructor Nigel. He let us take control of the boat and pull the ropes to keep the sail from falling down. It was really windy which made it really tough.  We sailed to the Oban marina and parked up! We went to the spire on an island. It was really interesting.

Kane –  Gorge walking has been my favourite activity so far! I wanted to jump in becauSe I wanted the experience but I was really apprehensive about it. Normally I need my goggles for under water and I was really proud that I went right in without them.

Jodie – I spent the morning moaning about going hill climbing but it was actually my favourite activity. We slid down mud slides on the hills. I made it to the top of the hill and had a great view right over to the islands! It was really windy at the top and there was lots of sheep! I’m so glad I did it because I’ve overcome my fear of heights.

Final activities

This afternoon saw us getting ready for and completing  our final activities! We had safari, adventure walk and rock climbing. The weather didn’t hold us back and in-fact we actually saw a glimmer of the Scottish sunshine as the afternoon went on!  image image image image image image image image image image image image image image image image image image image

Chippy walk!!!!

Our nighttime activity tonight consisted of a trip  into Oban and a very well received chippy!!!! We walked back to the centre in the dark and had to find our way back using torches!!! It was so much fun but a little scary too!! Some of the instructors were hiding and jumped out on us to give us a fright! Homemade muffins and sandwiches for supper pushed our full tummies to the max!! Building up our energy for all the fun we will have tomorrow!! Xximage image image image image image image image image

A Busy Day!! – Tuesday 22nd September

We have had such a busy day today. We are getting ready to head out for our evening activity but thought you might like to hear what we have been up to so far!

Chloe McL –  This morning I did skiing and it was much harder than it looked. I only fell once which I think was pretty good! I managed to get to the very top of the slope and was very proud of myself because it was really hard.

Rebecca – A lot of today saw me landing on my bottom!!!! I fell out the canoe this morning, I fell in a muddy puddle, I fell in sheep poo and I tumbled down the hill!! The good things about today were that I got to the top of a huge tree that we were climbing and rung the bell. I abseiled down and it gave me butterflies!

Emily – I did Gorge Walking this afternoon and I was trying to walk through the running water and I fell into a pool of water in between two rocks. It was so much fun. The water was freezing. We got to jump into the water off the cliffs and walk through waterfalls.

Neve – During the skiing I fell over and I wanted to give up. I had to persevere and I worked hard to get all the way to the blue ski zone. I was pleased I kept going and didn’t give up.

Dylan – We did loads today. I climbed to the top of a really tall tree and rang the bell at the top. We went canoeing this morning and it was hard because we had to work as a team and all paddle at the same time. When we got to an island, we climbed the hills and had the infamous Kilbowie bars to give us energy for the journey back!

Elise McC – I loved today because when we went canoeing we saw a seal and a jellyfish! We went to shore and found little baby crabs. Canoeing was great fun but it wasn’t easy to all work together at exactly the same time.

Zoe – Today we went in the mini bus and we went down to a gorge. We walked inside the river and climbed up the rocks. We had to trust the buoyancy aids to keep us safe. I swam in the deep bits and was really proud of myself because normally I wouldn’t go in the deep end!

Molly –  Today I learned how to canoe with my group. On the way to the shore we spotted a seal and some jelly fish. Rebecca fell into the water! I learned how to go higher than I thought I could when climbing and that if I tried hard I could do it.
