Vivian Duruh

Fourth year student  Vivian Duruh of St Aidan’s High School, Wishaw has been breaking records in her athletic competitions recently, the shot put being her strongest event as on the 9th of February 2019 she managed to win gold.

We managed to catch up with Vivian about her wonderful achievement she commented “I wasn’t really trying to win gold. I had broken the record and won the gold which feels really good”  she really enjoyed the competition and further commented that “i enjoyed that i could see so many familiar faces that i recognized,  so i needed to step up my game which was stressful but felt good.”

Vivian had mentioned that her inspiration  Serena Williams and  Muhammad Ali and she also had a few other inspirations outside of the athletics background including, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela as they stood for what they believed.

Vivian has also said that “I want to make a difference in the world and make a name for myself, and make my family proud”
