Busy Global Citizens

Today we have been busy Global Citizens! We have working on separate objectives in our groups:

  • We have been creating charts to monitor food bin usage within the dinner hall and make sure that people are aware which bin they must use for this purpose. Everyone will be reminded that food waste should go into the correct bin.
  • We are in the process of creating PowerPoint Presentations to make others aware of the Global Goals – especially Global Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) – and inform them how they can help. We will showcase this to all of the pupils in Greenhill Primary in order to educate others.
  • We are writing to local supermarkets to find out what they do with food waste that has either gone out of date or has not been sold. We have reiterated the importance of disposing of food waste correctly and the current problem that the world is facing today with many people not having access to food. We hope to receive responses with answers to the fantastic questions that we have generated.

Learning in Primary 2

Jolly Post Office

Primary 2 received a huge box from the Jolly Postman.  Inside the box was some books and a letter from the Jolly Postman asking us to help him deliver the Christmas post.

We have set up and made a post office in our activity bay. We made posters to advertise our Post Office services and put a post on Twitter.

Each day, primary 2 take turns to do the postal jobs such as, collecting, stamping, sorting and delivering.  We even have some Post Office uniforms.

The Jolly Postman has agreed to send us a brand new post box to help with our Christmas Post.  We can’t wait!!!
