Gold Rights Respecting School Award

Greenhill Primary School achieved the prestigious Gold Rights Respecting School Award from UNICEF UK, first earning it and then successfully reaccrediting the status.
This recognition means the school places the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the absolute core of its daily curriculum, policies, and overall ethos.
The Rights Respecting School Ethos
To achieve the Gold standard, the school must demonstrate that children’s rights are learned, understood, and lived by all members of the school community. Key areas include:
  • Mutual Respect: Strong relationships are built between staff, pupils, and parents to foster a supportive and inclusive community.
  • Student Voice: Pupils are empowered to become responsible citizens and active participants in decision-making.
  • Curriculum: The values of dignity, equality, and respect are tightly integrated into lessons and day-to-day interactions.
