Awareness Week

At Gartcosh Primary we aim to be an inclusive school celebrating everyone’s differences. Each year we participate in an Awareness Week. Throughout this week children across P1-P7 learn about ways in which people are unique and celebrate these. We look at Diversity, Autism, Diabetes, Dyslexia, Refugees etc. P6 and P7 also look at aspects of LGBT.

In school we may access a variety of online videos to enhance the children’s learning. Please see a list of possible videos below.

We are all different and unique: whether because of the colour of our eyes, our hobbies, our families, how we learn or some other aspect. We want to recognise and raise awareness of this but also develop an inclusive environment in which everyone is valued and respected.

Inclusion is the foundation to help us to achieve excellence and equity in education for all our children and young people.

Awareness Week 2024 will take place Monday 15th April – Friday 19th April.
