School Uniform

Our uniform arrangements will continue for session 2017/18. Pupils are expected to wear school uniform on their way to and from school and throughout the school day. We are always grateful to parents for their support with school uniform and trust that this will continue.

Our school uniform consists of the following garments only:

    • A white shirt or blouse, with buttons to the neck, and a school tie
    • Kilsyth Academy blazer
    • Plain black V-neck jumper or cardigan (if required)
    • Black skirt or trousers
    • Black shoes.

A PE kit consisting of a black T-shirt and shorts should be worn.

Seniors (S5/6) will continue to have their own distinctive tie and may wear black shirts instead of white. Seniors may also have red braid around the edge of their blazers, to tone with the senior tie, if they so wish. Pupils moving from S4 to S5, who wish to have red braid sewn onto existing blazers, can arrange for that to be done, provided the existing blazer is still in good condition.

As before, the following fashion items are not permissible, with school uniform:

  • Hoodies, Striped or coloured tops
  • Tops with logos/football tops
  • Track suit trousers or jeans or leggings
  • Shorts
  • Long black socks that go above the knee
  • Footless tights or leggings

School uniform items can be purchased from Baru, Cowgate, Kirkintilloch, and from other retailers. In particular, Baru stocks Kilsyth Academy blazers, complete with the school badge and, if appropriate, red braid.Baru will be providing a number of Uniform Evenings in Kilsyth Academy, when orders and purchases can be made. Special deals are available at these events. We will confirm the arrangments for this sessions uniform evenings later in the session and we look forward to seeing you on one of these occasions. The Uniform Evenings will take place in the café. All uniform items will be available for purchase on these evenings or orders will be able to be placed for non-stock items.Unless you are in receipt of a Clothing Grant, all items should be paid for, at the time of ordering. Parents who receive Clothing Grants from North Lanarkshire Council can still place orders and then pay when they collect the items in August.
