January

In Maths and Numeracy the squares and circles have been working on ordering the days of the week, months of the year and seasons. We will be learning about telling o’clock times after the February break. We have also been learning to add objects together and creating a set of addition facts that belong to the number 1 and 2.

The triangles have been working on subtraction of 2D – 2D numbers and are now challenging themselves to work out word problems. We have started looking at telling half past times on an analogue clock.

We have been enjoying learning about our first creature in our Scottish Myths and Legends topic. We have listened to different Nessie stories and have created pictures, postcards and stories about the famous Loch Ness Monster.

In the mornings we have been busy with some new tasks when we have done all our morning jobs. We are having fun with the adding monster, superstar spellers and P2 have been thinking critically about what they see, what they think and what they wonder. Take a look at some of our  morning work.

Charlotte – We’ve been doing see, think, wonder tasks in the morning.

Emily – We like doing see, think, wonder because they are funny sentences.

Mason – We have been doing our common words  in the morning.

Reece – We have been learning to play croquet. We made our targets We practiced hitting through the targets.

Maxwel – When we were playing croquet it was kinda hard but some of us got it through the target sometimes. We can like make one at home and practice at home.

Fyfe – We new common words are, dad and not. We have been doing a spelling assessment on Fridays. maybe we can make one at home to practice.

Evie – We have been making Nessie pictures and Nessie postcards for our Scottish Myths and Legends.
