Different types of clouds

Maxwel – We were learning about different types of clouds today.

Matthew – Cumulus means it is a sunny day. It looks like a big bumpy ball.

Emily – A Cirrus cloud can tell us if the weather is going to change into a storm. It looks like a pony tail with a little circle at the start.

Rory – The straight blanket one is called Stratus. We see them when it is raining or about to rain in a storm.

Lewis- We made a wee sheet with the different clouds.

Evie – We went outside to look for some of the different clouds.

We also learned that clouds are made up of rain drops. We found out that clouds are white because all the colours that shine from the sun turn them white. We know that when clouds are grey the sun isn’t getting through because they are too thick with rain drops.

Can you spot any of the clouds in our pictures? We found lots of Cumulus clouds and a sneaky Stratus cloud in between two houses, can you see it?
