S2 Geography
In S2 Geography pupils learn about 4 main topics through the BGE course consisting of Geographical Skills, Climate Change, Health and Rivers and Oceans.
Pupils start with geographical skills including map reading and numerical data to investigate and survive a Zombie Apocalypse.
Following this, pupils learn about a Climate Struggle Investigation (CSI) using the Rainforest and Sahel as two contrasting places. This encourages them to explore the climate and ways of life different from our own. This provides an opportunity to take part in a trip to Amazonia at M&Ds.
After Christmas, pupils learn about Health and the need for water and food particularly in developing countries.
Finally, we focus on River Landscapes and Oceans to highlight the importance of physical features and themes around pollution and sustainability.
Pupils at the end of the year have the opportunity to visit the Sea Life Centre in Loch Lomond to enhance their learning more.
