If you go down to the woods today….

Pupils in Primary Seven explored making natural connections within their local environment when they visited Wester Moffat nature trail on Friday with Andy, Lesley and Kevin from the Forestry Commission. We visited our pupil outdoor learning classroom and discussed the focus for our task. Andy set us the challenge of making a clay figure collage using as many natural sources from the woodland as possible. This then opened discussion about the different types of trees, wildlife and mini beasts living on our doorstep! I’m sure you will agree that the pupils met their success criteria when you have a browse at their marvellous natural creations. Well done M2.

Dahlicious Assembly from Base 4

Tuesday the 13th of September marked 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl – the world’s number one storyteller! Miss Taylor and Base 4 pupils have been looking at a selection of Roald Dahl’s most magnificent novels and today they celebrated their learning by sharing what they have learned in class with us at assembly.

We were taken on a whirlwind tour of some of the most amazing classics such as The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda and The Twits. The pupils in Base 4 entertained us with songs, dance and of course lots of whizzpopper facts…..as the BFG would say!
