Young Composers
This week Base 5 have been learning how music can represent different animals. First we listened to pieces from Carnival of the Animals and identified which animal it was portraying based on pitch and pace. We then spent time in our co-operative groups composing our own music based on different animals and presented our finished piece to the rest of the class.
Generation Science
On Friday 3rd March Bases 8 and 10 had a visit from the Generation Science Team. The workshop was titled Body Builders- The body, bones and organ show. Dr Watson and Nurse Treat It Better, along with a variety of characters, showed us why it was so important to look after our bodies and keep in shape. This was done through a fast-past, funny, interactive show which both pupils and staff enjoyed.

P6 have made a fantastic start to their new ‘Movies’ topic by celebrating the Oscars. They created Oscar portraits by using chalk to create the Oscar silhouette. One of our very own pupils suggested adding glitter to represent the glitz and glamour of the evening. Well done boys and girls you have created Oscar worthy portraits.
