This year P7a are working with Miss Woodley. So far this year we have been very busy developing our Maths and Literacy skills as well as working on all other areas of the curriculum. We are particularly enjoying studying World War 2 and have learnt lots already. Here is a picture of our class at the beginning of term. We will do our best to keep our blog up to date.
Summerlee Trip
Caldervale Visit
Our Primary 7 children visited Caldervale yesterday for the first of their transition visits. They had a Maths Challenge to build a tower of balloons as high as possible and keep it standing upright. The added problem was that the balloons had
a cost attached to them and the towers had to be made as cheaply as possible. Whew what a puffed out time!
Anderson Shelters
The Primary 7s in the P.6/7 class have been studying WW2. They have been reading about air raids and the different types of shelters available during this time. They read about the Morrison shelter and also the Anderson shelter. For their challenge they chose to design and make a model Anderson shelter. They were fantastic. Take a look!

The Primary 7s enjoyed the yellow walk even though it started raining. They especially liked the DJ at the end.

What energy source is this? How does it generate electricity? Do you know where these photos could have been taken?
Fun at the Park
At the end of the day we had time to let off steam ourselves!
Trip to Summerlee
This term we are learning about energy sources. We visited Summerlee to find out what the coal industry was like and even had the opportunity to go down an imitation mine for ourselves.
Easter Art
Have a look at the coasters we designed and painted for Easter. We had a great time doing this!
