We used different skills through maths and art to create snowflakes to get the classroom into the Christmas spirit. The children enjoyed making these and showing off their maths skills.

We’ve nearly finished our WW2 topic. What did you think of it? Tell me about something that you learned.

We have been working very hard on a variety of WW2 themed homework tasks. Some of us designed and made these Anderson Shelters.

Everybody gave it big attitude for the boys versus girls competition. Well done to the boys who scraped to victory.

We all went to Caldervale yesterday for our first transition visit. We were working in teams with pupils from other schools on a Maths Challenge. We had lots of balloons to blow up, with some help from sixth year pupils, and had to build a tower as high as possible. The added problem was we had to buy our balloons and make the tower as cheaply as possible.

Primary 7 went outside to search for right angles in the playground. We discovered that there are often right angles everywhere you look.

We now know about other types of angle too and have found some of these in nature. Having fun helps us to learn and remember what we’ve learnt!

Thanks to the firemen from Coatbridge fire station who came in to talk to us.

This afternoon Primary 6 and 7 in both Chapelhall & St Aloysius had a fire safety talk. We learnt about the dangers of Bonfire Night & the ways to keep safe. Unfortunately during the talk the firemen were called away to an emergency. Well done to the teachers who talked through the slide show! Please comment below with answers to these two questions.
