We had a lovely trip to the allotment on Monday to see how our plants and vegetables got on over the summer – and we were SO impressed! We saw peas, potatoes, beetroot and even a GIANT pumpkin. Mrs Raeburn had even picked us each a vegetable from the garden which meant that everybody got to take something home for dinner!

We had a great morning on Monday when we went a forest walk with three members of staff from the Forestry Commission.  We took part in three activities which were finding and identifying bugs, making faces and insects on trees with clay and learning to guide our partners through the forest while blindfolded.  These activities were part of our work towards the John Muir award and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Here is a quick update of the key areas of work which we have to complete before the end of term.

P45 shared plan last

We have been working extremely hard this week in Honeywell Habitats to create our Welly Garden and tidy our garden area.  The boys and girls are well on their way to achieving their John Muir award by completing 40 hours of environmental work.  Well done everyone I’m very proud of you.

We are working hard this morning preparing delicious Craggy Buns.  We are using our maths time to weigh our ingredients and are following our recipe closely.

John Muir is celebrated worldwide on the 21st of April every year. As we are completing our award this year we took advantage of the lovely weather. We had to discuss how best to achieve the challenges that Mrs Horner and Mr Murray have set for us over the next few weeks! Lots of hard work and creative minds are required for these challenges! We enjoyed a picnic while discussing these challenges.

Hi everyone we are back on GLOW today and have been learning how to add apps to our launch pad and create a short comic strip.

We had a fantastic trip today to Callendar House today and took part in a workshop about the Romans.  All pupils did a fantastic job of answering questions and the staff leading the worship were very impressed with their knowledge.  I was very proud of the children today and they represented our school in a very positive way.  Have a look at the pictures from our great day out.
