Science Investigation 2

We completed our second science investigation this week. We completed our investigations in groups of four. We had to decide on our variables and what we were going to do to ensure fair testing. The groups chose their own variables and completed their workbook. The children were extremely mindful of health and safety issues and had a great time whilst learning about chemical reactions.  Charys’ team were the champions, most of their tubs rose about 2 metres but one of Emilie’s team’s tubs went right over the fence! The best bit of the afternoon seemed to be when one tub exploded over me and covered my trousers in lemonade and Vitamin C!!

These investigations cover maths literacy and science all in one lesson as well as fabulous team work.

Perhaps you can record what happened with your variable and the height your tub rose.

Here are a few videos of what we were doing
