1. Some facts I know are-
   1. There is a part of the castle called the keep.
   2. There is part of Knights armour called a breastplate.
   3. You can move in chainmail.
   4. The moat protects the castle.
   5. There is a gatehouse called the portcullis.

2. 1. I learned about part that make up a castle, like a keep, draw bridge, the moat, port cullis, dungeons and the great hall.
   2. I learned that swords were used by knights.
   3. I learned only men could be knights.
   4. Knights came from rich families and had to have their own land.
   5. George was a famous knight who killed a dragon with his sword.

3. The keep is the safest place in the castle. There are lots of places in a castle. One of the reasons how you have to be a knight is you need to be a boy. A castle is very very big. Knights didnt always fight. Most of the horses got injuries and the knights. The learners polished all the knights armour. The knights armour was so heavy they had to use a machine to get on their horse. When you were becoming a knight you would bend down and the king will touch your shoulder with a sword. If you were a knight you would have to protect your king.

   Knights wear chain mail under their armour

   A drawbridge is used to cross the moat round the castle

   All knights use a shield as part of their protective armour

   Families who live in the castles have a coat of arms

5. I learned that the gate of the castle is called a portcullis and if enemies got past, they would probably die because someone would shoot them from the murder hole. I also learned
   that the armour the knights wear was made out of heavy metal
   rings. I learned that the French army climbed up the poo pipe to
   get into the castle. Life was very hard for everyone except for the king and Queen.

6. Here are 5 facts I have learned
   1. A castle was known as a Broch a long time ago in Scotland.
   2. The large gate at the front of the castle is called a portcullis.
   3. A lance was a weapon designed to knock the Knights of their horse.
   4. The Knights armour was made of chain mail and solid metal and a helmet.
   5. All prisoners were kept in the basement of the castle called a dungeon.

7. I learnt that the portcullis is made out of wood first, and the metal is covered around it. I also learnt that some castles were made of wood and some were made of stone as well as some being near the water whilst others were built on hills.

8. I learned that old castles were made of boulders. I learned that you can only be a man if you want to be a knight. I learned all the different parts of a castle.If you want to be a knight you need to have money or land. I learned that the keep is the safest place in the castle. I learned that you need to come from a good family if you want to be a knight.

9. A moat surrounds a castle and helps protect it from being attacked from any enemies.

10. I have learned about all the different parts of Knights armour.
    I have learned the 4 things that are required to be a knight.
    I have learned that chain mail goes on some parts of Knights armor.

11. I have learned years and years ago castles wouldn’t have been made of stone but made of wood. I learned about bow and arrows and weapons. Also I learned that kings and queens didn’t live in a castle they lived in a palace. I enjoyed the topic knights and castles 😃 It was fun .

13. I learned that horses wore armour when they went into battle.
    I learned that girls were not allowed to be a knight, even though they fought in battle.
    I learned all the different fighting machines and learned to draw them.
    I loved this topic and hope we do one like this in primary 4 and 5.

14. I’ve learned that women can tought in a battle but can’t be a knight .
    I have learned all the different things of a Castle. And that Knights need a lance

    2. Castles were built to protect the people inside from attack
    3. castles have wells inside so they can have access to water
    4. A knights armour was very heavy with lots of metal and chain mail

    i have learend that in the kitchen in a castle it would only be the men who were cooks and the woman served the food.

    i have learend that the knight armour was not all solid it was chainmail to this would allow them to move and fight but still protect in battle the armour was very heavy .

    i have learend you can only be a knight if you were strong rich and own your own land .

20. I learned that there was lots of places in a castle .
    2 I learned that brochs were the very first castle built .
    3 a moat is a lake that surrounds the castle and keeps the enemy from atcing the castle.
