We have been looking at the festival of Eid today in class and have learned about why and how it is celebrated.  Faria and Amna did a fantastic job of explaining more about Eid and brought in things from home to show us.

This week we started revising our knowledge of time.  We discussed days, months, years and started to look at digital and analogue clocks.  We revised o’clock and half past and will be looking at quarter past and quarter to next week.  We created our own clocks to help with our Time activities in class.

We had great fun this afternoon with our second cooking activity.  We made a tuna sandwich to take home as a snack.

We started fractions work this week and revised halves and quarters using various resources.

As part of our Eco house topic, we were discussing the advantages of brick as a building material.  We made our own brick together as a class, hopefully it will work but we’ll need to wait until tomorrow to find out.

We are looking for ideas for the Art Exhibition.  Our movie is the Lego Movie and we would like your ideas on what art activities we could do to create work for sale.  Reply to this post with your ideas.

P3 had a fantastic day today at Kelvingrove Museum. We found out more about ancient Egypt through a workshop where some of us were selected to be Pharaohs and Gods.  We created our own Gods and got to touch and feel some ancient artefacts.  After lunch we walked a short distance to Kelvingrove Park where we played in the play park and the Easter Bunny also made a special visit and we had to hunt for our eggs.

We made Easter Nests this morning using shredded wheat and mini eggs.  We had to break up the shredded wheat and mix it in with the melted chocolate to make the nest shapes.  Then we added mini eggs afterwards.  We then used this experience to write instructions.  It was great fun and we are getting really excited about Easter.

We started our science investigation today called Buried Treasure.  We are looking at which items clean dirty coins the best using a toothbrush to rub the coins .
