Summerlee Trip

Primary 1 had a fabulous day out at Summerlee today! They enjoyed participating in a workshop about life in the past and learned all about what life was like when Gran was a girl. The class loved the journey on the tram and were amazed to see all the old cottages from the past! A trip to the park and the gift shop rounded off the day making it a huge success! Thank you to Miss Rankin and Mrs Robertson for accompanying us and making the trip possible.

Bears, bears and more bears

Mrs Leggatt has been teaching us whilst Mrs Graham and Mrs Waugh have been off unwell. We really hope she doesn’t become unwell too. We have been looking at the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and also learning about lots of other bears too. We planned our topic together first thinking about all the things we wanted to find out. Our classroom has been taken over by bears at the moment but we are enjoying learning all about them. We have also been trying to write our stories by ourselves, with the help of a word mat for difficult words. Mrs Leggatt was so impressed with our work  she has displayed all of our stories on the walls. Have a look at the work we have been doing so far. Lots more to come.

Primary 1b 2014-15

Primary 1b have settled well into their new class at Chapelhall Primary School. Their teacher is Mrs Graham and she is very proud of the progress which has been made by all children in such a short period of time. The class have already learned 6 new sounds and can read, write and recognise all their numbers to 5. Well done boys and girls in Primary 1b.

PE will take place on a Monday and Friday each week. The class already love taking part in PE lessons with Miss Hutchison on a Friday after play time. Children should keep all PE items in a bag on their pegs throughout the week in order to participate in gym should there be any timetable changes.

The children have just started to learn about Woodland Animals through their topic, Percy the Park Keeper. We will keep you updated on how this topic is progressing.
