We had a great time this afternoon in P.E. We used the horse, springboard, benches and mats and learned about travelling and moving safely on apparatus.

Today Primary 1a visited our local Library. It was lovely to look at all the books and have a story. Some of us took a book home to read with our mums. What a nice morning!

As part of our Science topic of Moving Toys, we looked at how the force of wind can make a kite fly. We made kites using carrier bags and string. We decorated them with our names in Bubble writing, and took them up to the AstroTurf to see if they would fly. It’s fun learning outdoors!

Today we went on a visit to Summerlee as part of our Science topic on Movement. We had a workshop on different ways of travelling long ago and had a ride on a tram. That was our favourite part! We also visited the old houses and saw how people used to live long ago. Even though it was rainy we had a lovely day!

We wrapped up well this morning and went outdoors to do some Maths. We have been learning about mapping and we followed directions and mapped out our routes. We also practised writing our numbers to 20 with chalk. It was great fun!

We have had a lovely time at school with a visit from Santa and our Christmas party! We hope upon like our pictures! Merry Christmas from everyone in Primary 1…..see you next year!
