  • Junior Sports Leaders

Congratulations to our P6/7 who all completed their training to become a Junior Sports Leader.   Our Active Schools Coordinator, Julie, was very impressed with the way they interacted with our P1/2 children and how well they encouraged them to take part in playground games.   Well done P6/7!

  • Food and Farming Day at Lanark Market

Primary 6/7 enjoyed a day at the market where they learned about food production.   They enjoyed experiencing the view from a tractor and trying the different produce.  Some of the children took on the role of auctioneer while the rest placed their bids on the animals.  A great day was had by all.  Thank you to the parent helpers and RHET for supporting our trip.

  • Nursery Transition

The P1s enjoyed having the nursery children join them in class last week. They worked together to learn the letter S.

  • P1 & P7 Buddies

We enjoyed our first Assembly today when Primary Seven pupils were introduced to their Primary One Buddies.  Here are some photographs.

Each child was also presented with a pencil case with eraser, sharpener, ruler and two pencils as a result of Write Start and Cllr Mark Kerr determined that every child in Ward 1 started with the same resources, and so were equal.  Thank you for this positive initiative.

  • Primary 1 Transition

It was lovely to welcome the nursery children back into the classroom for their final transition visit.  They were concentrating hard to pinch and control their pencil so that they could write their name and draw a face.  Thank you to the Primary 1 buddies who helped them.   Following their time in the classroom the children got to experience eating their lunch in the dinner hall.  They learned how to collect their food, where to sit and how to clear up after themselves.  Great work!  Well done boys and girls!

  • Primary 7 Transitions

The P7’s have just returned from their first day visit to high school. They all seemed to really enjoy it and can’t wait to go back tomorrow. Highlight of the day was trampolining for PE!

  • Nature Walk

P6/7 enjoyed a nature walk around the village. A big thanks to Mr and Mrs Carter for leading the walk.

  • Primary 1 Transition – Numeracy

It was lovely to have our nursery children back into the classroom for another visit.  Today we were exploring numbers and shapes and were practising using the computer mouse.  This was very tricky!

  • Easter Boat Race 2017

Thank you to the Parent Council for organising the Easter boat race. The children had fun designing and making their boats before watching them race down the burn.  Well done to all of the winners!

Well done to the  Smarty Party, The Fighters and NSP’s (Niamh’s Scottish Party) for completing a fantastic campaign to promote their party and their policies and for delivering a confident and well prepared speech to the whole school. Good Luck!
