Brauhaus visit 2018

On Friday 16th March the Higher German class went to the Bavarian Brauhaus in Glasgow for a German lunch, after finishing their Speaking exams and working hard all year. Pupils had to order in German from a real German waitress, and sampled a typical German menu – some items were enjoyed, others less so, but at least they all had a go!

Higher French Speaking exams

I’m sure you were all so disappointed to see the school closed today when you were to be sitting your Speaking exams!

Dont panic – weather dependant of course, please be prepared for your Speaking exam tomorrow, beginning period 2.

Match the following pictures with their descriptions below.

Each sentence describes one of these attractions in Paris – write down which attraction it is  describing.

  1. C’est le monument le plus célèbre de la France et il mésure environ 324 mètres.
  2. C’est une cathédrale et on connait cette cathédrale d’un dessin animé de Disney.
  3. C’est un musée d’art où on peut voir la Joconde et la grande pyramide.  C’est un ancien palais et le musée le plus visité du monde.
  4. C’est un parc d’attractions qui se trouve à environ trente km de Paris
  5. On peut faire les magasins et manger aux restaurants chics. C’est une des plus belles avenues du monde.
  6. Construit à l’initiative de Napoleon et c’est un souvenir des soldats disparus à la guerre.
