Welcome back!

Welcome back to the new term!

I hope to start using the website a lot more in classes, and that you make use of the resources available at home. Here are a few things you may find useful.

Vocabulary – all the vocab you need is on the website so if you are ever absent or miss notes, get caught up by clicking on the subject and your year group.

Websites – there are links to many different websites on the right hand side so use some of these, and others such as linguascope etc, to help you to practise your French/ German / Spanish.

European Day of Languages 2016

European Day of Languages was celebrated throughout the Modern Languages department. S1 and S2 did a quiz the S1 Skye team – Hybrid and the Islay team – Team Team were the winners for this. There was also a S3 poster competition where classes designed posters on European languages, the winner of this was Jenni Bowie (Skye).

At lunch there were foods from all over Europe for pupils to try. From France we had things such as crepes, croissants, blue cheese.  From Germany things such as rhy bread and Haribos. From Italy things such as pizza and unique dips from Greece. There was also a ‘Bush Tucker’ style trial at lunch where pupils were blind folded and tried exotic European foods, the winner of this was Skye House – Ivana McCulloch who managed to try the most.  Well done to everyone who took part in the day.
