S3 Geography continues to develops knowledge of main geographical themes and concepts, as well as skills which continue to meet Cfe Level 3/4 outcomes.
The topics covered include a balance of Physical Geography topics;
Rivers and Limestone Landscapes – we take a ‘virtual’ trip down rivers and into places like the underground caves to find out how these two contrasting landscapes have been shaped and changed over time by the actions of water and the processes of erosion, transportation and deposition.
Case Study of the Yorkshire Dales – looks at the importance of limestone landscapes for a variety of different uses eg. tourism, farming, industry, energy etc. We will also consider pressures that different land users place on the landscape and consider some solutions to reduce conflicts and make human activity more sustainable.
