The children wowed both the morning and afternoon audiences at our show, The Nativity Party. Our costumes were fabulous, our singing was amazing and our smiling faces showed just how much we enjoy performing the nativity story on stage. Well done , nursery super stars!

We are all very excited for our Nativity show tomorrow. This morning we had our final dress rehearsal and it went very well! Here are some exclusive backstage photographs!

Care Inspectorate Visit
We were inspected by ‘Care Inspectorate’ on Monday and are delighted to inform everyone that it was a very successful report. We have been awarded ‘Very Good’ in all four areas. This is a very fitting acknowledgement for our fantastic staff and our wonderful children. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our parents and carers for their continued support – it has paid off!
Christmas Activities
As part of our theme about Festivals, we have been learning about the festival of Christmas. We have been listening to the Nativity story at Welcome time and have a real stable with dressing up clothes where we can act out the story. We are also practicing our Nativity Play so we will be ready for the big show this Friday. We have been looking for winter patterns and can rmake our own repeating decoration patterns. Our Christmas Enterprise items are looking great too. We’ve made Christmas Tree decorations, bauble gift tags, reindeer dust and Christmas bags. They’ll all be on sale at our party next week.
Capitals Corner Game
We had so much fun playing the capital letters corners game. We had to listen and watch for one of the capital letters and then run to the board where that letter was. It was such fun that some of us played the game 3 or 4 times. Learning about letters is great fun in nursery.

Making marks!
The nursery boys and girls have been hard at work AGAIN this week! As part of our numeracy studies, we have been looking at how we can make marks to represent numbers. Given that we were so creative when making playdough numbers last week, we decided to see if we could use pens to make number marks this week.
Great work boys and girls!
Capital letters
This week in literacy we have been finding out that sound have a matching capital letter. It is tricky to know which go together because sometimes they look quite different. We used our letter paddles to check which go together and then we glued the letter and capitals pairs together.
St Andrew’s Day
As part of our theme, Festivals, we have been learning all about the special day for Scotland’s Patron saint, St Andrew. We explored all things scottish including making soltaires(our national flag), creating our own tartans, listening and dancing to scottish music, singing scottish songs, doing role play in our scottish castle and tasting haggis, neeps and tatties.
The afternoon children thoroughly enjoyed their haggis, neeps and tatties as well! What a great St Andrew’s Day celebration!
