Goldfinch

Our class find goldfinches in the playground , Andrew’s dows wood and more. 

What they look like 

They have a bright red head.

They have a white & cream chest.

They have black, white & gold wings.

Its lifecycle 

It starts as an egg 

then it turns into a chick

then into the young adult 

then grows up to be an adult bird

Fun facts

1. They lay  4 to 6 eggs.
2. They eat thistle and teasel.
3. Their wing span is 20 to 21 cm.
4. They are a social bird.
5. When they are born they are pink.
