Description
Hawthorn shield bugs is a bug and is a invertebrate.
They are green with black dots. They are about 13-17 mm big.
They are the most common and biggest shield bug in the uk.
They are found in woodlands and gardens.


Food chains
They eat hawthorn berries and some trees like hazel, oak and birch.
Hawthorn shield bugs are eaten by spiders and centipedes.
Behaviour
Hawthorn shield bugs lay all their eggs in spring.
They also hibernate in autumn and wake up to lay their eggs.


Fun/interesting facts
They are some times referred as stink bugs because they let out sink if something attacks it.
Their scientific name is acanthosoma haemorrhoidale.
