Well done to our winning group from Aitkenhead Primary School. They invented a very interesting cartoon planet showing different cartoon characters. Excellent drawing skills boys and congratulations!
P7 Pupils were set a challenge by the Science and Maths departments of Uddingston Grammar School. They had to work in groups to design and create their own planet. They worked very hard for many hours. Please take a look at their pictures. Special thanks to Mrs McGown and Mrs Maitland for their assistance during this topic.
Primary 7 had a fantastic time at the ‘Superheroes’ event hosted by the Science Department at Uddingston Grammar School. Teachers were dressed up as various superheroes and the children visited different classes to carry out some exciting experiments! Here they are hard at work!
Primary 6 & 7 enjoyed their sponsored circuit and visit from Chris Bennett, Olympian Hammer Thrower. Thank you Millie for demonstrating the exercises at the beginning of the session.

Pupils in the ‘Eco and Outdoor Learning’ Leadership Academy have been working hard to design an Eco Character. Each member had to vote for their favourite (other than their own!) and three finalists were chosen. Well Done Aiden, Morgan and Iona. The whole school got their chance to vote for their favourite and our new Eco Character for Aitkenhead Primary was chosen. Her name is ‘Eco Ellie’ and she looks
P7 have been drawing self-portraits using oil or chalk pastels. Their task was to use pencil to draw the outline based on a digital photograph of themselves. They added detail using the pastels and had to choose colours that reflected their emotions. Pupils also had to be able to explain their choice of colours. Pablo Picasso and Edvard Munch have been the inspiration for this art work. Have a look
Pupils in Primary 7 have been working hard to create a timeline of events leading up to and during the second world war. They used iPads to research their own key event, recorded their findings and then selected which facts to include in their information poster. Their timeline will be displayed on the classroom wall.
Primary 7 are continuing to enjoy coaching in Hockey from the local Hockey Club. They are developing their ability to work in teams and enhance their skills in attack and defence. Check out their action shots!
