P6 Timelines and Library

Today Primary 6 enjoyed using the newly converted A/V room. It is now a lovely open space where the pupils enjoyed having the space, peace and quiet to read and select books for home. Recently each member of the Koala  Reading Group summarised the main events in a section of their group novel as a timeline (approximately 3 chapters). Today in trios we joined the parts together to make longer timelines and then had fun

P6 Paper Technology

Today’s challenge was to make a Pudsey or Blush slider pop-up. No template was given so pupils needed to draw their own bear. Some pupils instantly exclaimed, “I can’t draw!” However as you can see from the results, these pupils were wrong. Everyone left with a bear that has a sliding mouth to show different emotions. I hope you and your Pudsey or Blush are smiling tonight because our school

P6 Classroom Monitors

Today whilst many of the Primary 7 pupils were out of school we took on the responsibility of classroom monitors and helped look after classes during a wet lunchtime. Most of us loved it; though we weren’t always listened to! At one point five Primary Ones were squashed in the play tent together, they survived the crush and came out smiling.

P6 Scottish Maths Week

Last week Primary 6 were very busy solving maths problems in class and at home. Here you can see us sharing the shape puzzles that we drew for homework. Just like the one sent home it was difficult to agree on how many triangles were in each drawing. One of the problems enjoyed in school was ‘Planting Out.’ With this activity we had different challenges, the first was to investigate

No Monday morning blues this week! By 9:30 the whole school was moving and singing to 2 new rock songs and a melody of favourite tunes. With cheeks like hamsters the winner of this competition was our very own P7 teacher. Well done

P5 School Trip

Primary 5 recently  had an exciting day out at Dynamic Earth. Back in class we discussed 2 things that each child learned and 2 things they enjoyed. Rated number one was touching the huge lump of ice in the cold zone and a close second was the film in the videodome about space. Some pupils felt they had learned lots about climate change in the workshop and others have
