Primary 3 – 3D Shape

Today primary three enjoyed learning more about the properties of 3D shapes. Children were learning to describe the faces, edges and vertices (corners) of a range of 3D shapes including: cube, cuboid, triangular prism, sphere, cylinder, cone, square based pyramid and triangular based pyramid. They can match 3D shapes to everyday objects in school and at home. They played 3D shape lotto and made 3D shapes from a range of construction materials. Holding the shapes helped children to describe the number of faces, vertices and edges the shape had. It was a great fun, active afternoon, which we all enjoyed.
