Primary 4 make pizza!
Yesterday, Primary 4 transported themselves to Italy to the home of pizza! We looked at the components of a pizza then split into three groups for three different activities. The first activity was to think of all of the different ingredients that could be used for a base, the sauce and the toppings then design a perfect pizza of our own! The second activity involved the children researching where the ingredients in a pizza come from and how they are made. All of the children were amazed to learn that mozzarella comes from a buffalo and that mushrooms are a type of fungus! Our main activity was to make a bread based pizza with a partner using the skills of spreading, tearing, cutting using the bridge technique and assembling our pizzas, which then went into the oven. We really enjoyed making and tasting our pizzas. Today in class, the task was to write instructions for how the pizzas were made.
