Eco Committee

On Thursday the first of may Mrs Anne Black from ‘Keep Scotland Beautiful’ came for our Green Flag assessment. She met with the Eco Committee and asked them loads of questions. They showed her a dvd of all the Eco work by p6. Then went on a tour of the school and visited all the classes.She went back o Stirling to write a report.Then we got a phone call with good news-we had achieved our Eco Flag.

John Muir Festival

Last week Primary 6/5 went to the John Muir Festival in Kirkintilloch.  This Festival was to celebrate the opening of the John Muir way which the walked one mile along.  They had a great time and are still learning lots of interesting things about their John Muir award project.

Jake The Caterpillar

Jack Gulliver in Primary 6/5 brought in his pet Caterpillar, Jake to show his class. All the Pupils in P6/5 enjoyed looking and learning about Jack’s Caterpillar. He feeds it Chard and it is a week old. Last night, Jake started to Cocoon himself. Jack likes to study Jake and watch it grow everyday.

P3/4 The Romans

P3/4 have recently started the topic The Romans. One of their first lesson was an ICT lesson in which they took pictures of themselves and changed the background so that they looked like Romans.   It was a very good idea and we wish the class good luck in their new topic.

James Kelly Fundraiser


All week the children have been paying to put red and black squares onto a giant mosaic  of a football boot. There was also a raffle and  and loom bands being sold. The money raised will go to Yorkhill Children’s Hospital in memory of a former pupil James Kelly.

P.6 Master Musician

One of our Primary six girls earned a prestigious bronze music award for passing a very hard music exam.  She enjoys learning to play and hopes to continue to achieve further awards.

Primary 2/1

Primary 2/1 have been spending their money on james kelly to help yorkhill. They have also been doing creative dance lessons, this is their second week and they have been really enjoying it. Also well done to Erin who won first place for her duo and Sarah who won second for her duo on Sunday.
