P3 learned all about Faitrade for Fairtrade Fortnight, they made T-Shirts, posters and lots more. They have been looking at Foncho and fairtrade Bananas.They presented Fairtrade posters at Assembly that they made at ECo-Club. Also P3 are taking part in the gardening club at Lunchtimes with Mrs.Clark at Golden Time with Nicky.They have been working very very very hard this week!

P.6 Clyde in the Classroom update
On Tuesday, the trout for P.6’s class topic (CLYDE IN THE CLASSROOM) will be released into the burn just out side the school. They will then start to learn how to find food such as tiny water creatures and plankton.

P3’s Celebration of Baptism
Primary 3 held a Baptism celebration to help them prepare for their Sacrament of Reconciliation. Thank you to Father Andrew for helping the children celebrate and also to Miss Carson and also Miss Mclenaghan for their help.
Congratulations to our babies, Mary Bernadette and Andrew Patrick, and to the proud parents, God parents and families.

P6/5 Pond Dipping
Today Alan from the Forestry Commission came to primary 6/5 because their topic is John Muir. He took them pond dipping at the school pond. They had nets and skimmed the surface of the water with them to then look at what was in their nets.

The Eco Committee and Fairtrade Fortnight.
Monday the 24th of February is the start of Fairtrade Fortnight. Primary 3 and the Eco club have made posters to display at an assembly on Monday and will give short presentations on Fair Trade. They will show a film to introduce this years topic – Fair Trading in bananas to raise awareness throughout the school.

Primary 2/1
The primary two’s and one’s were selling valentines cards and hearts last week. They raised £116 selling them and can now pay for their trip to deep sea world that will link in with their topic. They will be going to deep sea world on the 12th of March. They will also have a visitor coming in to give them a special P.E lesson.

Rythmix Dance Crew Win
Girls from St.Patrick’s Primary took part in a street dance competition in Motherwell and won £750 for their outstanding performance. The group, called Rythmix, are also now named as one of the best street school in in the country. The girls had an intense time competing with several other school teams and four of our pupils had a special competition and won that aswell . Well done !

Primary 7 have received visits from Mrs Gregory, an English teacher from St. Maurice’s. Primary 7 have been enjoying the visits as a way of preparing for their move to high school
