Sickness Absence

Sickness Absence

If a child is likely to be absent for some time, parents should inform the school by letter or telephone and should give the child a note on his or her return to school confirming the reason for absence.  Please note absences can be recorded on Parent Portal and our office staff can acknowledge this.   Just a reminder that in accordance with public health guidelines, children with diarrhoea and/or vomiting symptoms should be excluded until they have NO symptoms for 48 hours after an episode of diarrhoea/and/or vomiting.

Please remember to check your child’s head on a regular basis for any signs of infection.

If a child has head lice, they should be treated before returning to school.

Please seek advice from your local Pharmacist or G.P about which treatments are most effective. Further information is available from link below

Administration of Medicine

Administration of Medicine

If your child has a medical condition, which requires them to have medication at school, please contact the school office for the necessary consent forms. This must be completed by the parent/guardian. All medicines should be in date and be properly labelled with the child’s name and pharmacy instructions.  Please note that all inhalers are kept in the school office in labelled containers.

Can I please remind you that no medication (prescribed or non-prescribed) can be either administered or given voluntarily to your child by school staff without your consent. Can I also ask you to keep note of when you change over long running medication so that it remains in date in school.
