Enquiry Based Learning

At St Ignatius’, our approach to learning from P4 to P7 builds naturally on the strong foundations of play‑based methodologies established in the early years.
As children progress, their curiosity and independence are nurtured through an enquiry‑based learning pedagogy that encourages them to question, explore, investigate and take increasing ownership of their learning.
This approach places engagement and wellbeing at its centre, ensuring pupils feel motivated, supported and confident as they explore meaningful, real‑life contexts.
Through collaboration, problem‑solving, reflection and hands‑on experiences, learners develop key meta-skills such as communication, creativity, critical thinking and self‑management. These essential skills equip our young people to thrive both in school and beyond, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of an ever‑changing world.
