Time to Shine

Our nursery dominates our news this week, having received a two day visit from two Care Inspectorate, Lynne Alexander and Kara Doonan. We are delighted with the outcome. Our nursery was graded as EXCELLENT across all areas. What a superb outcome for everyone in our nursery. Lynne, who was the lead inspector, could not speak highly enough of our staff, their commitment to our pupils, their care and genuine love for the children. The inspectorate also commented most favourable on the relationships between staff and families, how supportive and friendly all are and what a nurturing environment we provide for our youngest pupils. Full report will be shared with all in our school community in due course. We celebrated with a good old Scottish ‘Hoolie’ on Friday.

Meanwhile stars continue to shine in our school. This week our baby choir was chosen as the choir to premiere North Lanarkshire Council launch into the festive season. If you missed the performance on Saturday night you can catch up with it on NLC Facebook or Twitter pages. The choir performed beautifully. They train each week with Mrs Sally Wilkinson, however this performance was the work of Mrs Brenda McCoy as part of our forthcoming Nativity fittingly entitled ‘Superstar’. Every single child is indeed a superstar.

In school this week as part of our Catholic Education Week we celebrated a beautiful Mass in school on Thursday in recognition of Saint Andrew our Patron Saint. Primary three pupils led the liturgy with reverence and great confidence, well done Primary Three. Thanks to all who came along to join us at Mass, braving the November Scottish weather! Thanks also to Fr. Chromy who, as always, spoke so eloquently to all of our pupils, engaging them in all aspects of the Mass.

We will have Mass each Thursday throughout the season of Advent as we prepare for the great feast of Christmas. Please join us on Thursday mornings at 8.15am. All welcome.

Throughout this week all pupils in our upper school have benefitted from Money Workshops. leaning the ins and outs of banking and accounting. A very important lesson to learn in life.

On Friday every child in nursery and school received a  copy of their interim report, please assist us in our quest for continuous improvement and return the reply slip with you and your child’s comments.

As always, thanks for reading. Please leave a comment or two.
