Primary 3 Room 4

Good morning boys and girls,

Another sunny day is ahead to try and help keep us positive!  Did you manage to listen carefully, yesterday, to hear different bird sounds?

Perhaps today you could go a hunt around your garden or a walk and look for some nature bits and pieces that you could make into fairies or insects like a butterfly.  You could collect a stick for the body, leaves for wings and other natural elements for other body parts.  Remember to be respectful of other people’s gardens- don’t take flowers etc. that belong to someone else. Get creative!

The fairy below is called Bobella!

A note to parents/carers-

The suggested activities are just that suggestions, participation is at your discretion, complete if you can and find it appropriate to do so.  Many of you will have your own work to do at home and it can be difficult to juggle both.  Please remember both you and your child’s mental health is most important during this difficult time.

Some suggestions for this coming week:

Please refer to the grid for daily suggestions for Literacy and Numeracy.  Other curricular areas can be completed if this works for your family.

Click below to open the grid…

Home Learning Grid

Literacy

Phonics and Common Words:

  • Orally (spell out loud) your common words to an adult.
  • Ask an adult or brother or sister to trace the words with their finger in large writing on your back. Can you guess which common word they have written?

Reading Activity

Comprehension– Complete the online Quiz- What’s Inside Me.

Can you answer these questions in sentences, remember to use the question to help you for the answer and include capital letters and full-stops.  Remember too your best handwriting.  Aim high and give it your best try!

  1. What are the organs that help you breathe?
  2. What job does blood do?
  3. How long does it take for blood to travel from your heart around your body and back again?
  4. Which is the strongest muscle for its size in the human body?
  5. How much of the brain is made of water?
  6. What are nerves?

Art and Design

Find some old magazines. Cut out facial features and make some funny faces.  You can glue these down or just move them around on the paper to make funny faces.  You could then draw some of these faces.  Get creative!

Remember if you would like to leave a comment via Twitter, it would be lovely to hear from you!

Have a good day and remember these are just suggestions.  Keep safe.

Regards

Mrs Brown

Primary 5 Room 10

Good Morning boys and girls,

I hope you and your families are all enjoying this wonderful sunny weather 😎☀️ This is a great time to get outside for your daily exercise. How many steps can you do in one day?

Here is this weeks Home Learning Grid with your suggested daily activities. Remember these are suggestions only and there is no pressure to complete every activity on the learning grid, do what you can.

Literacy

  • Spend around 15minutes on Spelling City completing some of the activities I have assigned to you.
  • Type out this weeks spelling words into an email on GLOW and send them to me and to a friend in the class. Can you also change the font, size and colour?

Health & Well-being

  • Remember that The Body Coach does a daily workout at 9am every day. You can catch up on today’s workout at anytime on his YouTube channel.
  • As the sun is shining today, why don’t you go outside for some fresh air and do some warm-up exercises outside. Can you think of any that we do in school?

Religious Education

Last weekend some of us celebrated Easter. I was delighted to see some photographs of how you spent your Easter Sunday painting and rolling eggs. I’d love to see more!

  • Log on to Espresso to research ‘The Easter Story’ and create a comic strip of the main events that happen.
  • Add illustrations to your comic strip to bring it to life.
  • Why not let someone in your family read your comic strip and you could quiz them on the main events. Or you could read your story to your brother or sister.

Have a great day Primary 5, and enjoy the sunshine while you can!

Room 8 Mrs McQuiston

Morning boys,

I hope you had a lovely day yesterday and managed to get outside to enjoy the sunshine for a little while.

I’ve been looking at all the super activities you’ve completed on Studyladder and Sumdog. Well done – I’m so proud of you! I’ve added some new activities for you to try.

I realise some of you may not have been able to open the Home Learning Grid I attached yesterday so I have now uploaded the grid in a different format. Fingers crossed this works! 🙂

Why not try the Espresso challenge today?

Rm 8 Home Learning Grid

  • Today I would like you to Log into your Studyladder account and complete one of the Addition Activities I have set for you.
  • Use your lego to create a set for a minecraft animation. Show it to someone at home and describe it to them.

It’s going to be another sunny day! 🙂 Try to spend some time playing or getting your daily exercise outdoors today.

And remember…try to make somebody smile or laugh today. 🙂

Take care.

Primary 4 Room 6 and 7

Tuesday 21st April
Good morning everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful sunny weather and getting some daily exercise outdoors as we all need fresh air and everyone needs vitamin D from the sun to stay healthy as well. I am making sure I go for a walk each day and count my steps at the end. How many steps do you think you might do in a day?
I have attached the grid for this week for you to pick some other activities. As usual I have included some extra activities for you to explore and join in with.

Miss Hay and I will be doing PE with Joe Wicks this morning at 9am on YouTube. If you miss it at 9am then you can catch up at any point during the day as it will still be available on Youtube.  Email your teacher with your favourite physical exercise and remember to do the warm up and the stretches as well. How many steps do you think you will do? Check your steps at the end if you can.

BBC Bitesize have started a new way to help everybody learn. There are a variety of lessons every day on the website. Today’s choices are numbers and place value in Maths, a grammar activity in Literacy and there is also an opportunity to explore maps and the country where we live. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons

Hope you have a lovely day and I will speak to you tomorrow.
