Primary 3 and Primary 4/3 Burns Poetry Competition

Miss Jones and Miss Cassidy were very impressed by how hard the children of Primary 3 and Primary 4/3 have worked this week on learning their poems for the Burn’s Poetry Competition.

Miss Jones chose the Primary 3 finalists and Miss Cassidy chose the P4/3 finialist. They all represented the classes wonderfully with such confidence!

Vision and Values Poster Competition

We held a competition for our pupils to design a poster to display our MPS Vision and Values.

There were over 100 entries and the standard was incredibly high. Some of the Pupil Council had the tough job of picking a top 10 from across the school and then every pupil and member of staff got to vote for their favourite.

There were two clear winners with very little between them and here they are…

A big congratulations to our two well-deserved winners!

After School Drama Club

December 20, 2018 by Mrs White | 0 comments

I couldn’t be more proud of the boys and girls who have been part of my drama club this year.

They have worked tirelessly since the September weekend to learn an entire show to perform for their families and friends.

Their performances of ‘Primary School Christmas Musical’ can only be described as a success and have had raving reviews from both of their audiences.

It has been a pleasure to watch their confidence and talents blossom over the past 3 months, and I would once again like to congratulate them on putting on such a fantastic show.

Well done MPS Drama Club!

Keep shining like the stars you are and enjoy a well deserved rest over the holidays.

Christmas Service

The Christmas Service will take place on Tuesday 18th December at 10am at Coltness Memorial Church.

For our collection this year, we are asking for donations to the food bank. Please send in non-perishables on Monday or Tuesday and we will deliver them to the food bank.

All children will be travelling to and from the church by bus. Children will return to school for the remainder of the day.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Article 16 – The Right to Privacy – Homework Challenge

During assembly today the ‘Rights Respecting Schools’ committee discussed article 16 of the UNCRC, ‘The Right to Privacy’.

They invited the children to share their opinion on whether CCTV is an invasion of people’s privacy. This is a homework task and all children are invited to have a go. See below for more detail on how to complete the task.

Learning Intention:

To evaluate whether CCTV is an invasion of our privacy in a written report.

Success Criteria:

Write in sentences and split your sections into paragraphs.
Read over your ideas to make sure it all makes sense.

You should include…

An explanation of what CCTV is

Your arguments for CCTV

Your arguments against the use of CCTV

Also don’t forget to end your report by explaining whether or not you think CCTV is an invasion of our privacy.

If you complete the task you can hand it into your teacher who will pass it on to Miss Cruickshank or Mrs Molloy.
