School inspectors from Education Scotland have praised Lawmuir PS in a positive report.

During their visit to the Bellshill school, they talked to parents/carers and children and worked closely with the headteacher and staff.

The inspection team found the following strengths in the school’s work.

  • Teachers make effective use of digital technology to engage children in their learning. This is enhancing children’s experiences across all areas of their learning.
  • The headteacher and staff place a strong priority on children’s wellbeing which is leading to improved outcomes. They demonstrate a strong desire to continue to improve approaches to learning and teaching.

Miss Tracy Hurst, Head Teacher of Lawmuir Primary School, welcomed the report saying: “We are delighted with this report, which highlights strong collegiate working ethos that exists across our school community, and I’d like to thank all the pupils, parents and staff for what we have achieved together.”

She added: “Being recognised as a school which is improving outcomes for children, is due to our strong focus on children’s wellbeing and the focus we’ve had on our improvement priorities.”

“As a school community, we have a renewed focus on building on our existing effective practice to provide appropriate support and challenge for all our learners.”
