Last year before we all finished up for the school holidays Mrs Thomson put in our application for our Enterprising School Award and on the first day back at school we received the fabulous news that we had been awarded our Enterprising School Award in recognition of our work during 2023-24.

The award recognised that we help the pupils to fundraise and spend money on school projects and equipment across all school stages and in doing so we help develop the skills of our Young Workforce (DYW).

Projects which we took part in included the following:

  • Class Fundraising Christmas Card Project
  • Easter Extravaganza stalls
  • Fruit stall for Health Week run by our Sports Committee
  • Primary 6 & 7 pupils took part in the Virgin Money Grow £5 challenge.
  • We attended a STEM information day hosted by SmartSTEMs where we found out about the different jobs and careers which use STEM and explored possible pathways for our own futures.

We are looking forward to continuing to grow on our success with this award and host further enterprising opportunities for our pupils during the new school year.
